British actor Alex Pettyfer has called Los Angeles 'socially disgusting' and admits he sees the destination as more of a 'prison' where he attempts to live up to the standards of fellow actor Johnny Depp.
The Beastly star has insisted that he doesn't care much for fame.
In an interview with VMAN magazine, he said: "I've heard I've been called a bad boy, or difficult. Maybe that's because I don't take any bull****."
The 21-year-old, who used to date Glee's Dianna Agron, went on to refer to Los Angeles as a 's***hole' and used a misogynistic expletive to describe the women who live in the city.
Alex said: "I wish I had some interesting stories about living in LA, but mostly I just do my work and then go home. Being an actor is like being in prison. You go, you serve your time, you try and replicate Johnny Depp's career and then you move to Paris."
He added: "I think my Wikipedia is full of bull**** because I actually don't have anything cool or interesting to be said about me.
"I think [LA] is this insidious pool where nearly everyone lives in fear...Geographically it's fantastic...but socially it's disgusting."
